Catagraph answers students’ course questions from their school’s official catalog, and shows the reasoning behind every answer so students and advisors can check it.
Live for 43 colleges and universities. Built on research presented at IEEE ISAIA 2026.
Each tile is one school’s catalog, in its own colors. Striped tiles are on the way.
Students use Catagraph the way they’d ask an advisor, any time of day. Every answer comes from the catalog your school already publishes.
Every answer comes from that school’s official catalog, not the open web.
What a class requires, what you can take next, where a building is, what a policy says.
Catagraph shows why, step by step, with each step tied to the catalog entry it came from.
Ask “what if” and Catagraph works out what changes before anyone registers.
A yes or no is easy to give and hard to trust. Catagraph lays out each requirement, where the student stands on it, and the catalog entry behind it. The harder the question, the bigger the difference.
What do I need before I can take Data Structures?
When it needs a judgment call: Catagraph hands the case to the student’s advisor with the full reasoning attached, so the conversation starts where the student left off.
Illustrative examples. Catagraph’s answers use each school’s real catalog and the student’s own courses.
Students can test a change and see what it does to the rest of their degree, with the same step-by-step reasoning.
Graduation moves from May 2028 to December 2028.
Students get answers on day one. Partner schools add tools for advisors and faculty, on the same catalog.
Course questions answered in seconds, from the official catalog.
Spend appointments on decisions instead of lookups.
You decide. Judgment calls like waivers and substitutions come to you with the student’s reasoning attached. Catagraph never makes them for you.
Connect a course and see who’s ready for it.
You decide. Catagraph works from the course you connect, and nothing posts to Canvas or reaches students until you confirm it.
Partnerships include advisor and faculty tools, onboarding with your registrar, and a catalog kept in step with each new edition.
Become a partnerCatagraph grew out of HawkEye, a research system for answering students’ course questions from official catalogs. The work was presented at IEEE ISAIA 2026 in October 2026.
Catagraph knows only what your school gives it: the published catalog, academic policies, campus information. It doesn’t pull rules from the open web. Update the source and the answers change with it.
If something isn’t in the catalog, Catagraph tells the student and points them to the right office instead of guessing.
Each part of an answer names the requirement and the catalog entry it came from, so anyone can check it.
Accounts are tied to each school, and every student only sees their own school’s catalog and their own plan.
Catagraph explains, and people decide. When a question needs judgment, like a waiver, an exception or a substitution, it sends the student to their advisor with the reasoning already attached. Nothing is sent or changed on a student’s behalf without a person confirming it.
